Doula Support

Choosing the right birth support is a deeply personal decision.

Before booking a consultation, I invite you to gently explore this page and learn more about doula support, my approach to care, and how I walk alongside families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I believe every family deserves to feel informed, respected, emotionally supported, and cared for during this important transition into parenthood.

If my approach resonates with you, I would be honoured to connect with you through a  consultation.

A doula is someone who reminds a mother that she does not have to walk through birth alone.

What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained birth support professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labour, birth, and postpartum. A doula works alongside your healthcare team to help families feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their journey.

What is a Birth Doula?

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous support during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period.

Birth is not only a physical experience — it is also emotional, mental, and deeply personal. A doula offers calm presence, comfort measures, reassurance, evidence-based information, and continuous support throughout this important transition.

Many families describe doula support as:

        • “Having someone by our side.”
        • “Feeling emotionally safe.”
        • “Feeling more confident during labour.”
        • “Feeling heard and supported.”

How a Doula Supports

Doula support focuses on the emotional, physical, and informational needs of the mother and family throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Emotional Support: Providing reassurance, encouragement, calm presence, and a safe, non-judgmental space during labour and birth.

Physical Comfort Support: Supporting with breathing techniques, labour positions, movement, massage, relaxation, and comfort measures during labour.

Informational Support : Helping families understand birth options, prepare for labour and postpartum, and make informed decisions with evidence-based information.( which is covered in Lamaze childbirth class)

Partner SupportHelping partners feel confident and involved by guiding them with comfort techniques, emotional support, and understanding the birth process.
